It has been a busy year and I can’t believe it’s coming to an end.

We grew. We sold our beautiful old house that was our first family home. And we moved to a newer home and love it here. We have been welcomed into our new town and have wonderful neighbors. It was difficult to leave the charming old house that was our home for so many years but home truly is where your heart is. I realized that I was mourning the loss of those precious years with my kids but they have passed no matter where we are. Now we are all looking forward to making new memories together in this home.

We hiked. We visited farms. We took a vacation to Florida and visited lots of family members. We rode bikes and climbed trees and played soccer (So. Much. Soccer). My mom and I shot a lot of wonderful weddings together this year and as always I am humbled and honored to work with so many lovely couples.

My kids continue to amaze me with their kindness and perception. I am humbled by their compassion towards each other and the people they meet. I am blessed beyond measure to be their mother and even when life gets crazy, which it often does, I know that these are the best years.

In many ways, our year was exactly like it has been in previous years, just as it is for everyone. We enjoyed the seasons, we celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, and graduations. We matured, and we tried to balance work, family time, sports, and house projects, all while attempting to take it all in and enjoy the sweet moments. It’s no easy task. Sometimes you feel as though you are a hamster running on an endless wheel. Other times I wonder where the time has gone.  You have no choice but to move ahead. To learn from your mistakes, to try harder and to just breathe, so that you don’t miss all those wonderful little moments.

So here is to a happy new year to all of you!  Enjoy the chaos, the adventure and the everyday moments that make up the busy years.
