4 Times 12 Archive

4 Times 12 | December

It is already nearly the end of December, the end of the year!!  Life is busy and full as usual.  There are times when I find myself not wishing, but wondering what it will be like when the kids are older and coming and going on their own.  The idea of a cleaner, more organized house sounds wonderful; but the thought of a quiet house terrifies me.  It is in the quiet times that we are able to see more clearly what we have, and what we will some day be without.

I have really enjoyed this monthly project with the kids.  It is amazing and fun to look back at them over the year and see how much their faces have changed. They have grown in so many other ways too, from their language to their everyday skills.  Each of them so different in their own way. I am looking forward to this next year and all the adventures it has in store for our family.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!

4 Times 12 | October

Happy Halloween!  I’m getting this month’s project in just under the wire!!  But here it is, each of my children from the month of October.

Here is what I love:

As Asa gets older he wants to look a bit cooler in his pictures.  But I can still make him laugh and I love that.

Finley’s freckles.  I will always love Finley’s freckles.

Despite the intense blue lion painting, Atticus has chocolate on his face and that keeps it real.

Bea’s blue eyes.  I can never get enough of those big baby blues.

4 Times 12 | September

School has started, the colors are changing,  life is moving fast.

Oh why couldn’t we just have 6 months of September?

Can it really be that summer is already winding down?

This is a continuation of my year long project.  Click here to read the initial post about what I’m doing.  I take lots of pictures of my kids but have posting just one of each of them every month.  Even I’m amazed at their changes and growth over time!  I hope you’re having a wonderful summer!!

4 Times 12 | July

July has been full.  We’ve been swimming, visiting with family, playing, growing, working and enjoying the summer.  There is so much going on around here and I’m worried that once again the summer is slipping away.  There are so many things we want to do and never enough time to do them!  I feel that in the past month all of my kids have grown a tremendous amount.  Not just physically but developmentally.  Asa has an intense interest in Pokemon cards and for the first time ever is wanting to spend time with friends rather than being home.  I know this sounds silly (to anyone with older children) but it’s strange for me to see him on the phone and having a life of his own outside of our family.  Finley is branching out and discovering a little more of his own self as Asa isn’t always available to him.  Atticus is still our happy little farm boy but growing rapidly. His unique personality is emerging.  All of our boys are so different in many ways and I love seeing the person that is  Atticus.  He is not a toddler anymore and the nuances that make him special are becoming more clear with each day.  Bea has started talking like crazy! In just a couple of weeks time she has gone from one and two syllable words to attempting entire phrases.  It’s hilarious to watch her try to repeat things and we are all enjoying her progress! Her new favorite book is “Goodnight Moon” which she read with her Aunt Nancy over and over again. She continues to keep up with the boys and make us all laugh every day.

And one more of all of them because it is so cute!
