350 Media | Local Goodness

Imagine that you go to work every day in a quaint New England town, in a beautifully restored old mill building, with water running underneath it.  And that the people you work with are some of the sweetest, kindest people you’ve  ever met.  Try to envision yourself bringing your dog or your baby to work with you and then imagine that the actual work you do is helping our earth.  Picture yourself walking over to the little general store to grab a cup of coffee and maybe have your company meeting at their little cafe table.

I can honestly tell you that a place like this actually exists! I was lucky enough to spend the morning with 350 Media in Harrisville, NH and enjoyed every minute of it.  Oliver and Sara wanted to update their company head shots and be able to give their global clients a sense of who they are and where they work.  We spent a little time in and around the beautiful 350 Media office and then walked over to the Harrisville General Store to grab a cup of coffee,  a pretty common routine for these guys.  I couldn’t help myself and loved grabbing a few details in the adorable little store while we were there.  Seriously, you need a fresh doughnut?  You need a handcrafted felt doll?  Maybe a bottle of wine and some grass fed organic beef?  It’s all here!

I’m pretty sure that if most people worked in this kind of environment the world would most certainly be a better place.

Here’s my favorite head shot! Ever!

Inkprint Letterpress | NH Wedding Photographer

Letterpress makes me weak in the knees.  In a good way.  Not like snakes which also make me weak in the knees but in the worst possible way.  I love letterpress.  I think what I love most about it is that you can feel the artist’s touch in each piece.  It is a perfect blend of elegance and craftiness.

This week I had the chance to work with Sara Tejada of Inkprint Letterpress.  We collaborated on a shoot last summer and decided to get together to do some portfolio pictures for her.  Sara is super sweet and fun to be with. Her work is gorgeous and I highly recommend contacting her if you are looking for some beautiful letterpress invitations, announcements or cards of any kind.  She’ll work with you to create a gorgeous design.  I am so excited to have some new letterpress business cards made but know it will be hard to part with each and every one of them!

Here are a few photos from our session:

And here’s the adorable Sara at our shoot.

Herbs, Spices and Natural Goodness | Harrisville, NH | Kate Preftakes Photography

Yesterday I had the pleasure of working with my friend Melissa at her new company Attar, based in Harrisville, NH.  She and her husband bought this herb and spice wholesale business in October and are updating their catalog and website.  We had so much fun pulling out all the beautiful textures and colors of their inventory and creating these shots.  The smells were wonderful and I felt like I was in a foreign market somewhere!

Citrus goodness….yes please!  They have every kind of essential oil you can imagine.

If you do any kind of potpourri making or crafts, this is the place to go.
