Birthdays are hard

Today my beautiful first born son will turn seven years old.  I don’t know how that can even be possible and then again, I can barely remember life without him.

Asa, please don’t ever stop jumping on the beds  when you’re supposed to be settling in for the night.  Even though it makes me crazy.

Please don’t ever stop picking me bouquets of flowers, even though I actually liked those flowers in the garden.

Please don’t ever stop asking me why random things are, even though I can’t possibly answer all your questions.   I still have to get back to you on the size of an ostrich’s tummy.

And please don’t ever stop being the most caring, innocent, handsome boy.  The most wonderful big brother any boy could ask for.  We love you more than words and are so fortunate to have you, loving us back “more than infinity”.  I think I can handle seven years old, but no more than that.  We need you just the way that you are.

XOXOXO
