Greystone Manor Wedding

I have been behind this week as my case of bronchitis etc has basically knocked me out of service all week.  Being pregnant and sick is no fun any way you slice it and recovery seems to be lengthier than normal.  Even getting air into your lungs with a baby pushing on your diaghram is difficult.  But, that’s enough complaining.  I am on the road to recovery and so grateful for all my wonderful, patient clients that I have had to reschedule and for the fact that I had NO weddings to shoot this weekend!

But now, here’s what I really wanted to share with you!  The beautiful seaside wedding of Alexis and Scott.  This is one of the kindest, most adoring couples we have ever had the pleasure of working with and it was only fitting that they got a beautiful sunny day in August for their wedding.  They were married at the gorgeous estate of Greystone Manor in Cape Neddick, Maine.

Alexis you are so beautiful!  Both inside and out.

Scott, I adore you.

Here’s the cool part about their story.  Alexis and Scott met at a coffee shop in Portsmouth where she worked and he was a regular customer.  At the time they met and fell for each other, Alexis had already made plans to move to Colorado.  She moved and they kept in touch.  Eventually she chose to come back to Portsmouth to be with him because when you’ve found the one you can’t ignore that!  I love that story and I especially loved these cufflinks that she had made for him representing the two places.

I just adored these handsome brothers.

Congratulations to a wonderful couple!  I love you guys!

Dublin Lake | Family Portrait

I spent a little time with this wonderful family on Dublin Lake.  We started in their amazing gardens and headed down to the lake.

I love this moment between Alexander and his Mom.

And these moments with his Dad.

These are definitely my favorites.

Alexander’s grandparents were visiting from out of town and got to join in the fun.

What I love:

The light on the lake

The fact that the rain held off JUST long enough for us to do our session

Alexander’s striking blue eyes

Sand castles

The sweetness between Alexander and his parents

Cathedral of the Pines | Amelia & Kevin

It threatened to rain all day when Amelia and Kevin got married. They didn’t let it dampen their spirits and the rain held out just long enough for their beautiful outdoor Cathedral of the Pines ceremony.

Their reception was held at the Shattuck Golf Club in Jaffrey, NH

The Shattuck is such a beautiful venue and is  an old restored church.  I love the ceilings here.

A Day at the Beach | Family Portrait Session

I had the best time with this wonderful family at Odiorne State Park last week.  I’ve been photographing Gavin and Audrey since they were infants and I love watching them grow.  They come to the beach a lot in the summer and wanted portraits of their family  hanging out there together.   Here are a few favorites from a very fun evening.

Love this face!

And this one!

This is one of those childhood memories you never want to forget.

Here is what I love about this:

blue polka dots

red buckets

watermelon picnic (and how much Gavin loved it too)

hanging out by the water

Audrey’s big smile

Seeing this family together.  They have a wonderful sense of calm and happiness.

Little Evie

When I was in Chicago a couple of weeks ago  I had the chance to visit a dear old friend of mine.  Jen and I were best friends when we lived in Maryland and it was so hard to leave her when my parents moved to New Hampshire.   She and I used to write long letters to each other and our families would visit over the summer.  My parents with their six kids and her family with seven would all get together and play.  It was a child’s dream–but maybe not so much for the parents.

I haven’t had a whole lot of contact with Jen in the last 10 years or so.  Life has a way of slipping by like that and one day you just can’t believe an entire decade has gone by.  You know it’s a good friend though when after ten years you can talk non stop as if only a week has gone by. We could have talked all day!

Jen has a beautiful baby girl now and I was lucky enough to get the chance to meet her and take some photos of her running around in Wicker Park (near my old stomping grounds).

Evie is 15 months old and never. stops. moving.  Here she is, the beautiful miss Evie!

Here’s to catching up and not letting another 10 years go by!
